As August is drawing to a close, I just wanted to say:
1) At one time I was the ONLY internet DJ playing Stevan B.'s music. Now he is literally in the Top Ten on ReverbNation and has some of his music distributed by a label in New York called Factory Fast Records. There are many many DJ's spinning his tunes now, and this just goes to show the POWER of Internet Radio! WAY TO GO, STEVAN B.!!
2) The Jellybricks are opening for Rick Springfield on Saturday night, August 22nd, at The Hershey Theatre in Hershey, Pennsylvania! Show starts at 7:30 PM and ticket prices range from $25 to $85. The Jellybricks are a butt-kickin' Indie Band you've heard on my shows! If you are in the Hershey area, please go and see on the 22nd - and thank you!
3) The new charity project is going fairly well for being so new! As soon as I get the charity's okay to use their name and logo, I will fill you in on this wonderful fundraiser for a very deserving charity! Thanks for being so patient and enthusiastic at the same time!
4) No word as yet as to when the interview an online radio publication did on me is going to be published but you can bet I will let you know about it the second I find out! Internet Radio is no longer "the forgotten media." We are strong and getting stronger - more people are catching on to the variety of programming that they do not have to pay extra to hear, unlike the programming on "another type of digital radio which shall remain nameless." All you need to hear Internet Radio is access to the internet and a device that can click onto URL's. If your internet device has that capability and has speakers and/or you have headphones, then you can enjoy Internet Radio! Please do, especially Bumps Radio England!
THANKS AGAIN TO JAM RECORDS in Michigan! There is a package of their marvelous CD's on the way to me as I am typing this - and you know that means more give-aways! JAM Records is the mighty Indie Label featuring artists such as The Jeremy Band (who wrote the theme for my Indies and Oldies Show), The Ringles, the Lemon Clocks, The Gilligans, and so many other wonderful Indie artists and bands! Thank you, JAM Records! YOU ROCK! Their catalog is online, so please visit it when you can! www.jamrecordings.com
The triple-digit temperatures are back but hopefully gone soon! This is the hottest Summer for this part of the world I can remember! Let's hope you are having better weather where ever you are on this big beautiful planet of ours.
Hope you are having a great day every day! PLEASE BUY INDIE MUSIC!
STAY TUNED to The Toby Chicago Shows on Bumps Radio England!
