OK, Taters, to stop the speculation. . .I listen to my listeners. THEY let me know who they do and do not want to hear on my shows. I introduce new artists all the time and cannot play the entire catalog of every artist on every show or I'd be broadcasting nonstop 24/7/365. Although every artist likes to hear their music on the radio, the plain truth is, I have two hours per show twice a week. Each show has a different format. I play what I can, when I can, and that's the truth. I play certain artists every show or every other show because that's what the listeners tell me they want to hear. They also tell me whose music they do NOT want to hear. VOX POPULI. Rather than bug people I know about why some particular artist's music is or is not being played on my shows, please ask ME! My friends don't program the shows, I do - based on what my listeners tell me they want to hear. GOOD, POLITE COMMUNICATION SKILLS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. I hope the matter of bugging my friends to get certain artists played on my shows is now resolved. Please stop bugging my friends. Please ask ME. Thank you.
The sad thing is, there are listeners who are hesitant to be interactive not only during my shows but during other shows as well as there is a certain someone who is bugging people to have his or her music played more on my shows. The Listeners decide who does and does not get airtime on my shows. I program what they have told me they want to hear and leave out what they have told me they do not want to hear. It's been like that since Day One. I introduce new artists on my shows and play their music for two or three weeks, all the time gathering the reactions to that music from my listeners. If I get no reactions and/or negative reactions to a certain artist's music, I drop them from the playlist to make room for another. If I get good reactions to a certain artist's music, I play their music more often and sometimes on every show if that is what my listeners tell me they want me to do. It really is that simple, and there is someone out there who just doesn't get it, and thusly bugs people without him or her having the courage - or the manners - to ask me directly why he or she has been dropped from the playlists of my shows. This repeated intimidation of my listeners has assured that this artist will no longer be played on my shows.
I am from The South Side and South Suburbs of Chicago. I do not allow intimidation into my life or the lives of my listeners. TRM is a family-friendly, fun internet radio station. I am doing everything I can to help keep it that way. Thank you for listening to TRM Radio - we really do appreciate you! Please join us for some special and fun programming on our Birthday Party Day, Saturday, June 8, 2013!
